The Afghan Medical Complex (AMC) by Atta Welfare Foundation (AWF) seeks an experienced Health Data Collector & Public Awareness Coordinator (HDC &PAC)
The Health Data Collector & Public Awareness Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the collection, management, and reporting of accurate health-related data from multiple sources, including government health departments, NGOs, clinics, hospitals, and community programs. The position covers all health areas, including oncology, and other health indicators. Additionally, the role involves coordinating and implementing public awareness activities to educate communities about health programs, especially Cancer preventive care, and health promotion. The role ensures high-quality data collection, public engagement, analysis, and reporting to support program planning, monitoring, and decision-making in align with AMC by AWF’s goals.
Key Responsibilities
The Health Data Collector & Public Awareness Coordinator (HDC &PAC) performs the responsibilities and duties associated with this role, including, but not limited to, the following:
Data Collection and Management
• Coordinate and oversee data collection from health facilities, community health workers, outreach programs, and local communities.
• Collect data from government health departments, NGOs, clinics, hospitals, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Collect data across all health-related issues, including oncology and others
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases, ensuring data security and proper backup.
• Develop and update data collection tools (forms, surveys, checklists) as required.
Public Awareness Coordination
• Plan and implement public awareness campaigns related to health programs and preventive care.
• Collaborate with community leaders and stakeholders to organize workshops, seminars, and outreach events.
• Develop educational materials, brochures, and digital content for health promotion.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of public awareness activities.
Quality Assurance and Monitoring
• Conduct regular field visits to supervise data collection and provide guidance to teams.
• Perform validation and cross-checking of data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Identify gaps or discrepancies in data and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Ensure compliance with ethical standards, including privacy and confidentiality of health data.
Reporting and Analysis
• Compile, clean, and organize collected data for reporting purposes.
• Generate periodic and ad-hoc reports highlighting trends, gaps, and key health indicators.
• Analyze data across various health topics and present actionable insights.
• Support program managers in interpreting data for strategic planning and evidence-based decision-making.
Team Leadership and Capacity Building
• Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to a team of data collectors and outreach staff.
• Conduct training sessions on data collection methodologies, tools, public awareness techniques, and quality standards.
• Coordinate and motivate the team to achieve timely, high-quality data collection and awareness outreach.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Liaise with government health authorities, NGOs, community organizations, and research institutions to facilitate data collection and public awareness initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with organizational, ethical, and legal standards in all activities.
• Present findings to stakeholders to support program planning, policy-making, and resource allocation.
Operational and Administrative Support
• Plan and schedule field visits, data collection, and public awareness activities efficiently.
• Maintain logs, inventories, and documentation for all activities.
• Ensure timely submission of collected data and reports to the M&E team or program manager.
• Support internal and external audits and evaluations as required.
Innovation and Process Improvement
• Recommend improvements to data collection and public awareness processes for increased efficiency, coverage, and impact.
• Implement innovative approaches for community engagement, data verification, and health education.
• Stay updated on new tools, technologies, and methodologies in health data collection, monitoring, and public awareness.
Additional Responsibilities
• Collaborate with research institutions, public health agencies, and other organizations for supplementary data gathering.
• Track emerging health trends, outbreaks, or events relevant to the organization.
• Assist in integrating collected data into national or regional health information systems.
• Perform any other lawful activity assigned by AMC officials to you.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
• Educational Background:
o Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, MD, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related field.
o A Master’s degree and relevant professional certifications are preferred.
• Experience:
o Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in health data collection, monitoring & evaluation, health program implementation, or public awareness campaigns; experience in community engagement preferred.
